Shutdown at Britain's Buzzard oilfield scheduled for Oct-Nexen

LONDON, May 21 (Reuters) - A planned shutdown of Britain's North Sea Buzzard oilfield is now scheduled for October this year, its operator Nexen UK Petroleum confirmed on Thursday.

"The programme is determined in partnership with the Forties Pipeline System," a spokeswoman for Nexen (KSE: 005720.KS - news) said in an e-mailed statement.

Traders said the maintenance was originally pencilled in for one week from June 11, but this had been postponed.

Buzzard is the biggest contributor to the Forties crude stream, one of the four North Sea crudes that underpin the Brent benchmark. It normally pumps at around 170,000-180,000 barrels per day (bpd).
