Yahoo Finance British Athletics 'trusts' Mo Farah will make the 'right decisions' regarding Tokyo 2020 on I'm a Celeb
Double Olympic champion Mo Farah is set to enter the I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! castle on Sunday 15 November. Yesterday, British Athletics said the 'trust' Farah and his fellow campmate, Paralympian Hollie Arnold, will make the 'right decisions' regarding their Tokyo 2020 plans.
Speaking to BBC Sport, one of Farah's representatives confirmed the runner would continue his anti-doping testing as normal during his stint on the TV show.
'We trust in them and their support networks to make the right decisions around their preparations before the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics,' said a British Athletics spokesperson.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes have set Farah’s odds at 5/1, predicting he will be being crowned King of the Castle and win the show. This will be Farah’s second stint on reality TV; he took part in the ITV game show The Cube in 2012.
Farah, won Olympic gold in the 5000m and 10,000m at the 2012 and 2016 Games. After pacing the elite-only London Marathon earlier this month, Farah revealed he had his sights set on another Olympic medal, in Tokyo next summer.
The Olympics, which will still be called Tokyo 2020, is due to take place from 23 July to 8 August 2021. The Paralympics will take place from 24 August to 5 September 2021.
