Sky Data Poll: Over half of Britons back Uber

More than half of the British public think Uber should be allowed to operate in the UK, an exclusive Sky Data poll reveals.

The taxi-hailing app lost its licence to operate in London on Friday after Transport for London found it was "not fit and proper" to hold one.

:: Over 500,000 sign petition to 'save Uber'

Excluding those who answered 'don't know', 56% support Uber operating in Britain, while 44% oppose it.

In all, 43% say Uber should be allowed to run in the UK, 34% say they should not, and 22% do not know.

Londoners are much more supportive of the company than any other region, with 60% in favour of it continuing to operate and 29% saying it should stop.
