Yahoo Finance Sky to hike UK prices by up to £72 a year
Millions of Sky customers could be hit with price hikes of up to £72 ($99.87) a year this April, as TV and broadband tariffs are set to be hiked.
Home phone users will also face price increases from 1 May this year.
Sky Broadband Essential customers are due to see the biggest hike, with prices for that service alone going up more than 13% from £22 a month to £25.
Other customers who have Broadband Superfast will see a £1 increase to £28.

BT Sport is being upped by £2 to £27, while Sky Ultimate, the firms Netflix add on service, will increase £1 to £5.
Sky signature is set to increase by £1 to £26, and the Multiscreen package, where customers can watch all different Sky channels from different TVs at the same time will be upped by £1 to £15.
Sky HD is facing a 16.6% hike, from £6 to £7.
New customers to the provider will also be charged updated tariffs from Wednesday 17 February, with increases for other customers depending on when they had signed up for the service in the first place.

Nick Baker, broadband expert at Uswitch.com, said: “Price rises have become an unwelcome spring tradition, and this hike lands before the ink is barely dry on both Virgin Media and BT’s recent increases.
“Sky’s broadband and TV price rise doesn’t kick in until 1 April, so there’s plenty of time to avoid these changes if you’re not happy.
“Broadband customers who are still in the minimum term of their contract can leave penalty-free if they act within 30 days of receiving their notification."
