SM Energy (SM) Q2 Earnings Surpass Estimates

SM Energy (SM) came out with quarterly earnings of $0.02 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of $0.11 per share. This compares to earnings of $0.15 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of 118.18%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this independent oil and gas company would post a loss of $0.28 per share when it actually produced a loss of $0.34, delivering a surprise of -21.43%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates just once.

SM Energy, which belongs to the Zacks Oil and Gas - Exploration and Production - United States industry, posted revenues of $407.17 million for the quarter ended June 2019, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 0.09%.
