From House Beautiful

The new cooker range from Smeg and Dolce & Gabbana is bold, daring and probably the chicest in the world.

The luxury Italian appliance manufacturer and fashion powerhouse have teamed up once again to release the third instalment of a uniquely colourful partnership, and this collection will enable discerning homeowners to create the design-led kitchen of their dreams.

The range, named Divina Cucina, was unveiled at Milan Design Wee (aka Salone del Mobile) and features two distinctly different sets of the matching Victoria range cooker and extractor hood plus Smeg’s iconic FAB28 fridge.

The appliances have been crafted in celebration of the rich Italian heritage of both brands.

First up is the ocean blue and pearl white print inspired by Italy’s celebrated maiolica ceramic pottery. Each appliance has been decorated with depictions of Mount Etna, the picturesque ruins of the Greek temple of Castor and Pollux in the Valley of the Temples, plus imagery steeped in mythology.

The second vibrant design tells the story of ‘Divina Cucina’ through vivid illustrations of golden yellow lemons, prickly pears, bright red cherries and classic Sicilian decorations – these are all framed by triangular geometric shapes known as Crocchi.

The delicate floral motifs are inspired by vegetation and landscapes of Southern Italy. Sicilian puppet theatre and traditional hand-painted carts have played heavily in the creation of this second print where the dominant tones are fiery red and orange.
