The trailer for Will Smith's upcoming movie project King Richard has just dropped, showing the legendary actor as the dad of Serena and Venus Williams.

The teaser – which you can check out for yourself above – gives us a look at Will in character as Richard Williams, the man widely credited for helping his daughters to become two of the greatest tennis players in history by serving as their coach.

The trailer shows the twosome on the court as youngsters perfecting the craft that went on to make them household names.

In one scene, Will's character can be seen speaking to a social worker. "I don't mind you saying we're hard on these kids, because we are. That's our job. Keep them off these streets," he said.

"This world ain't never had no respect for Richard Williams, but they're going to respect y'all," Richard can also be seen telling his daughters.

Godfather of Harlem actress Demi Singleton stars as Serena, while American Horror Story and Hidden Figures' Saniyya Sidney plays her sister Venus. Also starring in the movie is Aunjanue Ellis as the Williams sisters' mum Brandi Williams, while Scandal's Tony Goldwyn plays tennis coach Paul Cohen.

Fans may also recognise American Horror Story and Law & Order: Organized Crime's Dylan McDermott as Will Hodges.

This one really was a family affair, too. Behind the camera, Venus and Serena worked alongside their sister Isha Price to executive produce the movie, while Will's wife Jada Pinkett Smith is also one of the executive producers.

Will worked as a producer, alongside Tim White and Trevor White.

King Richard is set for release on November 19 and will also be available via HBO Max in the US.
