WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (AP) _ Solitario Exploration & Royalty Corp. (XPL) on Wednesday reported a loss of $441,000 in its first quarter.

The Wheat Ridge, Colorado-based company said it had a loss of 1 cent per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to less than 1 cent on a per-share basis.

The precious and base metal miner operating in Peru, Brazil and Mexico posted revenue of $408,000 in the period.

The company's shares closed at 36 cents. A year ago, they were trading at 44 cents.
