Someone Made Cheesy Mash From A Packet Of CRISPS, And We're. Freaking. Out.

From Delish

First things first, TikTok has lots and lots of great cooking hacks. You know, like how to achieve the crispiest roast potatoes, or how to peel garlic in seconds. But, on the rare occasion, videos do pop up which leave us feeling... er, shocked (and maybe even a little disgusted). But hey! It's part of the fun, right?

And so, this hack by @elis_kitchen is certainly interesting.

Named 'Signature Cheesy Mashed Potatoes,' the video shows you how to make a batch of cheesy mashed potatoes out of (get this) LAYS CRISPS.

@elis_kitchen begins by adding salt and vinegar to a saucepan of boiling water. Then, using a large packet of crisps, he places the contents of the packet in the saucepan (yes, we're talking soggy crisps). After soaking up the water, he drains the crisps using a sieve and gives it a good mix. He then adds a handful of cheese, and seasons with paprika.

The video has received over 440,000 views, with lots of comments from people around the world. One person said,"There's instant mashed potatoes like why!?!" While another wrote, "I'm intrigued. Kinda wanna try it."

Someone even commented, "I can't wait for Gordon Ramsay to find this."

Look, we're not really sure how to feel about this 'hack,' but for the time-being, we think we're going to stick to our own Mashed Potato recipe (sorry @elis_kitchen!).
