Yahoo Finance Sonic the Hedgehog 2 adds Shemar Moore to the cast
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has unveiled a new cast addition, with a familiar Criminal Minds and SWAT star set to join the speedy blue hedgehog.
Shemar Moore, who's probably best known for playing Derek Morgan and Hondo in the aforementioned shows, respectively, confirmed his appearance on Instagram.
Posing behind-the-scenes with co-stars James Marsden, Tika Sumpter and Natasha Rothwell, the actor seemed more than pleased to be jumping on board the franchise.

"Aaayyyeee!!! Homies, Fans, n Baby Girls!!!! Your boy is excited to be a part of the #SonicMovie2 cast along with @james_marsden @tikasumpter and @natasharothwell," he wrote.
It is currently unclear who Moore will play, though the fact he appears on set in the photo suggests it will be a human rather than a voice role.
It's also been confirmed through set photos that character Knuckles will pop up in a surprise appearance, joining fellow gaming icons Sonic and Tails in the sequel.
Knuckles coming on board was previously teased by co-writer Pat Casey, especially after the Echidna tribe were seen in the first movie.
"Knuckles is an Echidna so I would guess they're related in some way, but what exactly that relationship is... we'll have to see how things develop," he told Fandom. "But the Echidna tribe was definitely not chosen at random."
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is due for release on April 8, 2022. The first film is out now on Blu-ray, DVD and streaming.
