South Africa's manufacturing output up 5.4 percent y/y in July
JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa's manufacturing output increased by 5.4 percent year-on-year in volume terms in July from a revised 0.5 percent in June, Statistics South Africa said on Wednesday. On a month-on-month basis, factory production rose 5 percent and was up 2.2 percent in the three months to July compared with the preceding period. Economists polled by Reuters had predicted year-on-year growth of 1.5 percent for June. Stats S.A has revised the base year to 2010 from 2005, affecting previous data.
