Spanish royals tie the knot in 'fairytale' wedding

Royal watchers have been left stunned by the gorgeous photos of the wedding between Carlos Fitz-James Stuart y Solís, the Count of Osorno, and grandson of Spain's wealthiest woman, and fiancée Belén Corsini.

The pair's wedding took place at Liria Palace in Madrid, an estate that has been in Carlos' family for centuries and marks the first big royal wedding of 2021.

Official photos gave fans a look at the intimate ceremony, the couple's first dance and family snaps, with some likening the snaps to a 'fairytale' or a 'Disney movie'.

Belén wore a white gown by Spanish brand Navascués with puffy shoulders and long sleeves with a dramatic train made using heirloom fabric from her maternal grandmother.

She chose not to wear a tiara, instead wearing her hair up with a diamond hairpiece.

Carlos looked like Prince Charming in the Gala uniform of the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla (RMS), or the Royal Cavalry Armory of Seville.

Due to Spain's looser Covid restrictions, up to 300 guests were able to be in attendance and were able to dance indoors. However, the couple chose to keep the numbers down and had the ceremony outdoors.

"This seems straight out of a fairytale!" one royal watcher wrote on Twitter.

"What a wedding!" another added.

Carlos and Belen were dating for two years before getting engaged last October.

The Count's grandmother, the Duchess of Alba, or her full name María del Rosario Cayetana Alfonsa Victoria Eugenia Francisca Fitz-James Stuart y de Silva, was worth an estimated $4 billion and was one of Europe's wealthiest aristocrats when she died in November 2014.

She was a relative of Winston Churchill and even shared toys with the future Queen Elizabeth while living in England as a young girl.

María left her entire estate to her six children and her eight grandchildren with her third husband signing a prenup waiving any rights to her wealth.
