St. James's Place names Helena Morrissey as non-executive director
(Reuters) - British wealth manager St. James's Place on Thursday named Helena Morrissey, former head of personal investing business at Legal & General Group, as a non-executive director with effect from Jan. 1.
Morrissey, a high-profile female fund manager who has spoken in favour of Brexit, resigned from her previous job amid speculation of her applying for the post of governor of the Bank of England in October, Reuters reported.
"Helena's appointment takes the proportion of women on our Board to a third," St. James's Place Chairman Iain Cornish said in a statement.
Morrissey was associated with fund manager Newton Investment Management since 1984 where she served as chief executive from 2001 to 2016.
