Yahoo Finance Stacey Dooley reveals why she's reluctant to marry Kevin Clifton
Stacey Dooley has said she'd be more interested in starting a family than getting married.
The 34-year-old TV presenter and documentary maker is in a relationship with former Strictly Come Dancing pro dancer Kevin Clifton, who she met while partnered on the series in 2018. The couple won the show, and currently live together in Brighton.
While speaking to Tradwives, a community of women who give up their careers to stay at home and look after their house and children, Stacey revealed: "Kev and I have been together for two years. I don't think I want to get married. I think I'd be more interested in starting a family than getting married."
She joked: "I can't think of anything worse than being a Tradwife. I would be useless, completely and utterly useless. He'd divorce me in a heartbeat."
Fans have speculated over whether she could be pregnant after she shared a photo of herself out for dinner with Kevin who appears to be looking down near her waist, while friend and makeup artist Val Garland commented: "Looking gorgerama mama."
One fan asked: "Is that a baby bump under there? X, while another said: "Baby bump looks pending.....??? 😍". Neither Stacey or Kevin have commented on the rumours.
Kevin has been married three times, including most recently to Strictly dancer Karen Hauer.
Discussing her work and career, which includes hosting BBC One's new entertainment show This is My House, the star said: "It makes you more vulnerable. I don't want to find myself totally reliant on a man because that means if I'm not happy and I don't feel fulfilled and complete, I might have to stick around. Whereas the life I've chosen, I can do as I please. I appreciate that probably sounds very selfish."
Kevin left Strictly last year to work on new projects including his Strictly Ballroom: The Musical tour and a new TV project. Unfortunately, his tour got postponed due to the pandemic.
