DC's Stargirl is introducing another new hero to the Justice Society of America – and she has a famous father.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Penarejo's character is called Jade, and while the latest trailer teases the character's arrival, it also reveals that she immediately gets into some trouble with Courtney Whitmore / Stargirl (Brec Bassinger).
In the trailer, the new Justice Society of America seems ready to hang up their masks, believing the threat from the Injustice Society of America to be over.
However, Stargirl knows that their work isn't done yet and has to contend with both the JSA and her parents trying to persuade her to just be a normal teenager.
But, of course, Stargirl is right, as the trailer also shares a look at new villain The Shade (Jonathan Cake) whose arrival was first teased at the end of the season 1 finale.
Season two will also see the debut of Eclipso, played by Nick Tarabay. In October, the show's creator and executive producer Geoff Johns described the new baddie as "terrifying".
"I've always loved the character," he said. "He's a very different antagonist or villain than the [Injustice Society]. We're just starting to cast him, and I've got these wonderful designs on what he's gonna look like. It's such a different, darker, scarier threat."
DC's Stargirl season 2 premieres Tuesday, August 10 on The CW. Stargirl airs on Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
