Stars shine in yellow on 2021 Emmys red carpet

Yellow seemed to be the go-to colour at this year's Emmy Awards.

Anya Taylor-Joy, who was nominated for The Queen's Gambit, led the charge in a stunning yellow and light gold Christian Dior Haute Couture dress. The floor-length two-piece design featured a backless column gown with halterneck top and a flowing canary yellow cape, which she draped across her forearms.

She finished off the look with an intricate bun styled by Gregory Russell, a bold red lip from make-up artist Georgie Eisdell and silver jewellery from Tiffany & Co.'s Elsa Peretti Diamonds by the Yard collection.

Emma Corrin, who was nominated for The Crown, also opted for the hue, wearing a pale yellow strapless gown from Miu Miu to the Emmys screening in London. But it was her intriguing choice of accessories that set social media alight - she and stylist Harry Lambert finished off the look with an old-fashioned bonnet and long fingerless gloves, which showed off her long spiky black nails.

Sharing photos of her ensemble on Instagram, Emma joked that she was serving up "crucible realness" with her outfit, referring to the play by Arthur Miller.

Michaela Coel, who made history as the first Black woman to win the Emmy for best limited series writing for I May Destroy You, secured her place on best-dressed lists by rocking a neon yellow two-piece design by Christopher John Rogers which featured a bandeau-style top and matching skirt with a knee-high split. She complimented the bold dress with matching pumps, pearl drop earrings and a jewelled necklace.

And Kaley Cuoco, who was nominated for The Flight Attendant, also hopped on the neon trend by rocking a custom Vera Wang Haute dress with floral-embellished straps, a centre split and a flowing train. She also wore matching neon yellow strappy sandals and diamonds from De Beers Jewellers.

The 2021 Emmys took place at L.A. Live on Sunday night.
