Yahoo Finance Steph Curry, Simone Biles, Gronk among sports stars donating signed gear for COVID-19 fund
A star-studded group of more than 100 athletes and sports figures from around the world is offering signed jerseys, golf clubs and even doling out fantasy advice in an effort to raise money to combat the impact of COVID-19.
The items are being gifted to support the “Athletes for COVID-19 relief” auction to raise money for the Center for Disaster Philanthropy's COVID-19 response fund.
A $25 donation can net the winner a Stephen Curry-signed jersey, a leotard signed by Simone Biles, a skateboard signed by Tony Hawk or a football signed by Rob Gronkowski.

Other sports figures donating signed gear include Jack Nicklaus, Michael Phelps, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Rory McIlroy, David Ortiz, Trae Young, Elena Delle Donne, Chris Paul and Mark Cuban.
What kind of gear does Mavericks owner and internet billionaire Mark Cuban have to offer? An autographed $1 bill, of course.
ESPN’s Field Yates and Matthew Berry and NBC Sports’ Peter King, meanwhile, are offering fantasy football advice.
$25 donation could win
The fundraiser isn’t a traditional auction with items going to the highest bidder. Anyone who donates at least $25 for a specific item will be entered into a drawing to win that prize. There is no maximum donation.
According to ESPN, the fundraiser is the brainchild of David Schwab, the executive vice president for the sports agency Octagon.
"Right away, so many athletes were asking how could they help,” Schwab told ESPN. “What could they do? This was a way for them to do something together.”
According to the CDP, donations will be “invested in the hardest-hit communities” with support going to quarantined individuals, access to medical services and equipment to keep healthcare workers safe, among other causes.
The full list of sports figures offering items for auction is available on the Athletes for Relief website. As of the time of this post, a jersey signed by U.S. Women’s National Team star Rose LaVelle had raised the most money at $7,002.
