STOCKS NEWS EUROPE- Deutsche Post up after quarterly profit beat

Shares in Deutsche Post (LSE: 0H3Q.L - news) rise 1.9 percent to the top of Germany's blue-chip Dax index and their highest level since May 2007 after the world's No. 1 postal and logistics group reports stronger-than-expected operating and net profit in the third quarter.

Foreign exchange effects caused a drop in revenue in the quarter but operating and net profit are up, Equinet analysts point out.

Deutsche Post's confirmation of its full-year guidance, which it had increased in August, is also adding to the positive mood around the stock, traders say.
