STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-FTSE AIM index up 0.5 pct, Coms outperforms

Junior-listed AIM shares climb 0.5 percent, underperforming a 0.6 percent rise from the FTSE Small Cap index , but outpacing the mid-caps, 0.3 percent firmer.

Cloud-based telephony firm Coms climbs 5 percent after winning the "Best Performing Share of 2013" award.

The shares have leapt more than 700 percent this year, against an 11 percent rise on the AIM index, helped by winning a contract to sell broadband and lines to MITIE Property Services.

Explorer Baobab Resources also sees good gains, ahead 8.7 percent, on the back of an investment from a major shareholder.
