STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Housebuilders rally as GS sees mkt accelerating

Shares in housebuilders Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey (LSE: TW.L - news) gain as much as 4 percent to be among the biggest rises on the FTSE 100 (FTSE: ^FTSE - news) and the FTSE 250 (FTSE: ^FTMC - news) indexes respectively, after Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS-PB - news) accelerates its view of the UK housing market recovery.

The U.S. investment bank raises 2015 earnings forecasts for UK housing-related stocks to 26 percent above consensus and says: "We now expect UK housing transactions to reach long-run levels by 2016 vs. 2020 previously."

Goldman Sachs' adds Taylor Wimpey - for which it sees 66 percent potential upside - to its conviction "buy" list where it joins Persimmon and residential property website Rightmove (LSE: RMV.L - news) . It also upgrades Bovis and Barratt Developments to "buy" from "neutral".
