STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Iliad leads French mid-cap fallers on results

Shares in Iliad (Paris: FR0004035913 - news) drop 4.2 percent in brisk volumes to lead fallers on France's broad SBF 120 after the telecom operator's quarterly results fail to beat consensus by as much as some had expected, weighed by a slowdown in the number of new mobile customers signed up.

"This publication doesn't beat the consensus as much as in the previous quarters... expectations were very high," a Paris-based trader says.

Shares in Iliad have doubled in the past two years -- thanks to sharp gains in market share and its arrival in the mobile sector -- while the STOXX Europe 600 Telecom (Frankfurt: NZT.F - news) sector index is up 15 percent over the same period.
