STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Lanxess shares up on CEO comments

Shares in Lanxess (Other OTC: LNXSF - news) , the world's biggest maker of synthetic rubber, rise 2 percent to the top of Frankfurt's blue-chip DAX index after its chief executive tells German paper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung that the group expects earnings to rise again in 2014.

Traders say the remarks are helping shares on Monday, even though analysts already expect earnings to rise next year.

Shares in Lanxess have fallen about 30 percent year-to-date, underperforming a 24-percent rise in the DAX.
