STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-SAP shares gain on affirmed outlook

Shares in SAP (LSE: 0NW4.L - news) rise 4.5 percent to the top of Germany's blue-chip index in early trade after the business software maker posts in-line quarterly results and affirms its outlook.

"The confirmed 2013 outlook is a good sign. Especially the long term growth opportunities for Cloud and HANA are encouraging," DZ Bank analyst Harald Schnitzer says.

Analysts in a Reuters poll on average saw SAP's 2013 operating profit, excluding special items, rising to 5.58 billion euros from 5.21 billion in 2012, which is below the company's outlook range of 5.85 billion to 5.95 billion.
