STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps up slightly more than blue-chips
Britain's small cap equity indexes rise to slightly outpace gains on the blue-chip index.
The FTSE Small Caps Index and junior-listed FTSE AIM All Share Index are both up by 0.2 percent in mid-session trade, with the blue-chip FTSE 100 index up by 0.1 percent.
The FTSE 250 Mid Caps Index, which hit a fresh record high earlier in the week, is down by 0.3 percent.
Antrim Energy (Toronto: AEN.TO - news) surges 24 percent after the company says oil production has resumed at the Cormorant East Field after maintenance work.
Renewable energy (NasdaqGS: REGI - news) company Acta SpA edges up by 1.6 percent after raising a gross amount of 2.1 million pounds ($3.39 million) from a share placement.
"This is encouraging news," writes Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Caroline de La Sougeole, who keeps a "buy" rating on the stock.
Sports marketing group Chime Communications (LSE: CHW.L - news) falls 1.9 percent after buying Just Marketing Inc (JMI (KOSDAQ: 033050.KQ - news) ) for $71 million in a deal that costs it the support of its largest shareholder WPP (LSE: WPP.L - news) .
