The FTSE Small Cap index and junior-listed AIM shares rise 0.2 percent and 0.4 percent respectively, against a 0.2 percent stronger mid-cap index and a 0.1 percent rise in the blue chips.

London-listed oil company Faroe Petroleum (LSE: FPM.L - news) rises 10 percent after saying it has discovered oil and gas on the Pil exploration well it has drilled in the Norwegian Sea.
