STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps down, outperform broader market

The FTSE Small Cap index falls 0.3 percent, but outperforms junior-listed AIM shares, the mid-caps and the blue chips , which are down by 0.5 to 0.7 percent.

British suit specialist Moss Bros (LSE: MOSB.L - news) surges more than 20 percent after saying it expects to post a full-year profit ahead of market expectations following a surge in sales over the Christmas period.

Volga Gas (Frankfurt: KWW.F - news) rises 11.5 percent after the oil and gas exploration and production group operating in Russia's Volga region says production in 2013 surged 46 percent from 2012.
