STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps dip, lag blue chips

The FTSE small cap index and junior-listed AIM shares fall 0.1 percent, lagging the mid-caps, up 0.5 percent, and the blue chips , up 0.7 percent.

Finnish miner Talvivaara rallies 25.7 percent, the top FTSE Small Cap riser, after its top creditor, Nyrstar (Other OTC: NYRSY - news) , said it was reinstating support for the miner's reorganisation process.

Talvivaara is attempting to fend off bankruptcy, and is still down 77 percent this year.

Retroscreen Virology rises 14.3 percent after clinical services provider reports full-year revenues for 2013 significantly ahead of market expectations, prompting Numis to raise the stock to "buy" from "hold".
