STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps close down 0.2 percent

UK small caps fall 0.2 percent and junior-listed AIM shares shed 0.1 percent, both underperforming the mid-caps and the blue chips which rise 0.6 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively.

Utilitywise, a company which advises businesses on how to cut their energy consumption and lower their carbon footprint, jumps 11 percent, extending gains from the previous session when it posted higher revenues and profits.

Kromek Group, which develops technology that detects x-rays and gamma rays the main application of which helps doctors detect cancer earlier by providing clearer, colour images from CAT (Taiwan OTC: 4990.TWO - news) scanners, debuted at 51 pence on the AIM market.
