STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps close flat

The FTSE Small Cap index closes flat, in line with the FTSE 100 and against a 0.2-percent higher FTSE 250 mid-cap index /

The junior-listed FTSE AIM All Share Index ends 0.1 percent lower.

Software (Xetra: 330400 - news) and data services company Fusionex rises 4.6 percent, after the company announces new contract wins which prompt brokerage Panmure Gordon to raise its price target on the stock to 637 pence from 586 pence. Panmure keeps its "buy" rating on Fusionex's shares.

Electronic technologies company Stadium Group (LSE: SDM.L - news) falls 5.2 percent after reporting that pre-tax profits for the year ending December 31 fell to 0.43 million pounds ($715,200) from 1.77 million a year earlier.

Analysts at Charles Stanley Securities write in a research note that Stadium Group's full-year revenues came in "marginally lower" than their expectations, but add that a cost-cutting programme has put the company in better shape.

"The group has also started the new financial year well, with a positive book-to-bill ratio. Consequently, we believe Stadium is now well placed to drive growth and deliver an improved quality of earnings," they write in a research note.
