Struggling T-Systems must change fast, new CEO says

FRANKFURT, March 16 (Reuters) - T-Systems, the struggling IT services arm of Germany's Deutsche Telekom (IOB: 0MPH.IL - news) , is in for far-reaching changes over the next two years, the unit's new chief executive told Reuters.

"The company needs to change quickly," Adel Al-Saleh told Reuters in his first interview since taking on the job on Jan. 1. Asked how long he had to achieve the task, he said: "Twelve to 24 months.

T-Systems has for years been the problem child of Europe's largest telecoms group, which like rivals BT and Orange (LSE: 0OQV.L - news) has struggled to find a way to revive an old-style IT outsourcing model that relies too heavily on big clients.
