A SWINDON woman must pay more than £2,000 after holding a lockdown gathering at her home.

Anna Gruszczynska, 37, was caught participating in a private indoor gathering consisting of two or more people at her address on Oakham Close in Toothill.

It happened on January 24, 2021, when Swindon was in Tier 4. Under the government's Covid rules, all household mixing was prohibited, except for support bubbles and two people meeting in public outdoor spaces

Gruszczynska was called to South East Wiltshire Magistratess Court on Monday, June 13, where she was found guilty in her absence.

She was fined an initial £1760 with a surcharge to fund victim services of another £176, plus further costs of £85.

The total amount of £2,021 is due to be paid by July 11, 2022.
