Who Is Sydney Sweeney’s Fiancé, Jonathan Davino?
We've known for a while now that Sidney Sweeney is happily engaged, and reportedly set be married by next spring; and still, little is known about the Euphoria actress' soon-to-be husband, Jonathan Davino.
The two were photographed holding hands during an outing in the French Riviera this weekend amid the Cannes Film Festival. The joint appearance came as a surprise, as Sweeney most often attends Hollywood events solo, and keeps her relationship with Davino very private.
Sweeney has previously spoken of her decision to maintain privacy in her romantic life and stay away from dating within the industry. "I don’t date people in the spotlight," she told Cosmopolitan last February. "I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it’s easiest."
But, ahead of their wedding, see everything we know about Davino and his and Sweeney's love story.
He was first linked to Sydney in 2018.
It remains unknown to the public how exactly Davino crossed paths with Sweeney, but he was first photographed out with her at an Emmys after-party at the NoMad hotel in Los Angeles. One month later, he was captured again with the actress as her official plus-one to a Kate Spade dinner at Spring Place.
He is a restaurateur.
Davino hails from a family that owned two since-folded Chicago restaurants, Mista Pizza and Pompei Xpress, per Chicago Business. According to People and TMZ, he is also the owner of some vaporizer packaging companies, including 14th Round and Final Bell.
He is happy to be out of the spotlight.
Davino is more than content to support his high-profile actress fiancée from the sidelines (see here for their PDA-filled day on the beach in Hawaii, where Davino accompanied Sweeney as she filmed The White Lotus Season 1).
Sweeney has been openly appreciative of her fiancé's unwavering support and flexibility around her acting career, having praised his open-mindedness and secure sense of self during her February 2022 conversation with Cosmopolitan. "I have people who will battle for me," she told the magazine, "and allow me to be on the pedestal and shine without making me feel like, 'Oh no, I’m shining too bright and I need to step back.'"
She also referred to Davino as her "best friend," adding, "I need to be able to be with someone who I can literally hang out with 24/7 and never get sick of and we laugh every single day."
