Syria Tourist Board Reveals Promo Clip With Slogan 'Always Beautiful'

Syria's tourist board has released a promotional video showing packed beaches and jet-skiing.

The pictures show the coastal town of Tartus, which was hit earlier this year by a series of suicide bombings by Islamic State.

The video ends with the slogan "Syria - Always Beautiful".

The clip makes no mention of the overall situation in Syria, which has been ravaged by a brutal civil war for the last five years.

The conflict has killed close to 300,000 people and caused tens of thousands more to flee the country.

The bloodshed has also dragged in the likes of Russia, the United States and Turkey, which have all launched airstrikes in an effort to alter the situation on the ground in their interests.

Pictures of devastation have become an almost daily occurrence, and earlier this month video of a boy rescued after an airstrike on the city of Aleppo became a symbol of the desperate situation in the city.
