The government has announced plans to change the law to protect statues. The communities secretary Robert Jenrick said Britain should not try to edit or censor its past amid proposed amendments to laws to protect statues, monuments and other memorials.

The Guardian is interested in speaking to residents from local areas undergoing consultation to change names or take down statues, or where that change has already taken place. Are you happy with the process? Do you support the government’s announcement or do you think it is stoking a culture war?
