Tesla surging after earnings report

We have the late breaking earnings from Tesla Motors. Shares higher in the after market as Tesla announces increased production in 2018 - we break down the numbers.

What's next for oil?

U.S. oil inventory build just reached record highs, hitting about 2.8 million barrels last week. That was 1 million barrels above analyst expectations. How will oil supply balance out this year? Yahoo Finance's Justine Underhill has the commodity update.

Adidas bags golf business

Turning now from the oil fields to the putting green, Adidas announced today that it would selling off its golf business, which includes Taylormade, Ashworth, and Adams. Joining The Final Round to discuss more bogeys for the golf business is Dan Roberts, writer for Yahoo Finance.

Winners and losers

Stocks getting hit today include Priceline.com on a weaker than expected guidance, mobile gamemaker Glu Mobile on revenue forecasts missing estimates, and Under Armour - shares under pressure after the company announced the departure of its Chief Merchandising Officer, as well as its Chief Digital Officer.

Stocks in the green today include Tinder parent company Match Group on strong user growth, handmade goods site Etsy on an earnings beat, and Medivation - the drugmaker up on reports that now Pfizer is looking to bid for the company. This after it already turned down a bid from Sanofi.

Looking ahead

  • Ahead of Friday's jobs report, we'll get weekly jobless claims tomorrow morning. New claims for last week are supposed to come in at around 262,000.

  • Earnings season rolls on with companies like Alibaba - of which Yahoo owns a stake, Dow component Merck, News Corp, and Yelp all set to report.

  • Finally Elon Musk's SpaceX is back, as tomorrow afternoon they will be launching another Falcon-9 rocket that will deploy a Japanese communications satellite. The rocket will again attempt to land the first stage of the rocket on a drone ship out at sea.
