Salesforce (CRM) has been named the UK’s best place to work in 2021, according to a new ranking by job and recruitment site Glassdoor.

Salesforce topped the list of 50 businesses based on feedback from actual employees. The annual ranking is based on anonymous employee reviews of their workplace, featuring insight on career opportunities, compensation and benefits, culture and values, senior management and work-life balance.

Salesforce featured on the list of the best place to work in five countries this year — the US, Canada, UK, France, and Germany.

Technology giant Microsoft (MSFT) ranked number two in the UK, followed by protein research tool company Abcam (ABC.L).

Google (GOOG) placed number four and is one of only two employers to make the UK list every year since launch. The other is JP Morgan (JPM), at number 14 this year.

The list features employers across a range of industries, including technology, finance, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, insurance, and food.

Despite the impact of COVID-19 on the food industry, four restaurants made this year’s list. Three appeared on last year’s list: Bella Italia (8 in this year’s list), Nando’s (12) and Wagamama (43).

There were nineteen new entries this year, including software company Sage (16), Majestic Wine (19), online food order and delivery service Just Eat (JET.L) (20), and The Body Shop (23).

Seven employers rejoined the list in 2021, including Sky Betting & Gaming (11), which last featured in 2019, tech company ARM (41), last recognised in 2018, and Waitrose & Partners (42), which placed in 2018.
