Music legends, such as members of The Beatles, Queen, The Who, may all dominate the list for the richest musicians in Britain but there are now a number of artists that could eventually eclipse their fortunes, according the Sunday Times Rich List.
Every year, the Sunday Times calculates who are the richest people in Britain and release dozens of lists, according to identifiable wealth including land, property, other assets such as art, and shares in companies. The calculations do not include the amount contained in people's bank accounts. One of the lists ranks the richest people in the music industry in the UK and give a table of 40 musicians.
At the top of the table is Andrew Lloyd-Webber with a net worth of £820m ($1bn). The musical theatre legend is famous for Cats, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and The Phantom of the Opera, which is now in a record-breaking 32nd year on Broadway.

Sir Paul McCartney, one of the members of The Beatles, is now in second spot with £750m while collectively band U2 is worth £583m.

While older and incumbent music legends dominate the list, including the likes of Sting, Rod Stewart, and Eric Clapton, there are a number of younger music artists that are pulling in huge amounts of wealth.
Calvin Harris now has the same net worth as music veteran Sir Tom Jones with £165m, adding £25m onto his fortune over the last year.
Harris, a Scottish DJ, record producer, singer, and songwriter, has worked with the world’s most famous music artists, including Rihanna and Sia, and has hand a seemingly endless roster of best-selling singles and albums. He is ranked joint 15th with Jones.
Ed Sheeran is ranked the joint 17th richest musician in Britain alongside Queen’s Brian May, with a fortune of £160m.
Over the last year alone, Sheeran added £80m onto his wealth. The Sunday Times said: “It is believed [he has] earned more than any other musician in a single year in history, with box office takings of £340.5m from 94 gigs played to 4.86m people around the world.”
Adele is joint 22nd richest musician in Britain— alongside Sharon and Ozzy Osborne — and is the highest-ranked female artist in the list with £150m.
Meanwhile, although singer-songwriter Rita Ora did not make the overall richest musician list, she ranked as the 44th richest person aged 30 and under in the UK, according to the Sunday Times. Ora, who also previously dated Calvin Harris, bumped up her net worth to £18m over the last year, thanks to lucrative commercial deals with the likes of Adidas and Calvin Klein.

The same goes for a number of popular and up-and-coming music artists, such as Stormzy with a net worth of £16m and Sam Smith with £32m.
Members of One Direction all made the young people’s rich list: Harry Styles (£58m), Niall Horan (£49m), Louis Tomlinson (£44m), Liam Payne (£42m), and Zayn Malik (£36m).
Members of Little Mix are collectively worth £45m.
