Thomas H. Lee Partners Hires Shahab Vagefi as Managing Director

Vagefi to Focus on Healthcare IT Opportunities

BOSTON, September 28, 2021--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. ("THL"), a premier private equity firm investing in middle market growth companies, today announced that Shahab Vagefi has joined the firm as a Managing Director in THL’s Healthcare vertical.

Mr. Vagefi joins THL with over a decade of healthcare private equity experience. Most recently, he was a Founding Partner at Martis Capital, a middle-market private equity firm focused on Healthcare Services, Information Technology, Products & Diagnostics, and Consumer & Wellness verticals. In this role, Mr. Vagefi helped lead daily operations of the firm and was involved in all aspects of sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing investment opportunities.

Prior to Martis Capital, Mr. Vagefi was a Senior Associate at The Carlyle Group from 2007 to 2010. Mr. Vagefi began his career as an investment banker holding positions at JP Morgan and Credit Suisse. Mr. Vagefi holds a B.A. and M.A. from Johns Hopkins University and an M.B.A from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Over the past 20 years, THL has invested approximately $5 billion in over 20 healthcare companies, including Nextech, SeniorLink, Curo Hospice, Syneos Health, and Intermedix.
