Man Charged With Murder Over Reservoir Body

A man has been charged with murder after a body was found in a reservoir at a popular beauty spot.

Candido Pereira, 37, was charged after police discovered the male victim's body near a path popular with walkers in the Yarrow reservoir near Rivington, Lancashire, in the early hours of Tuesday.

The victim has not yet been formally identified but detectives believe it is missing Bolton man Darren McMinn, 48. His next of kin has been informed.

Two other men, aged 34 and 29, were released on bail pending further inquiries.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Candido Pereira, 37, of Chorley New Road, Bolton, has been charged with the murder of Darren McMinn."
