Dwyane Wade had 'great day' golfing with Tiger Woods day before car crash

The news that Tiger Woods had been injured in a serious car accident in Los Angeles on Tuesday shocked the sports world, but former NBA superstar Dwyane Wade was especially stunned. He'd been out on the links with Woods the day before the crash, having fun, getting pointers and talking about their kids.

Wade appeared on TNT on Tuesday night to talk about his outing with Woods at Rolling Hills Country Club, and how grateful he is that Woods took the time to golf with him.

"I had an unbelievable opportunity yesterday... I picked up the golf clubs, like many in the black community, because of Tiger Woods. I got that opportunity yesterday to get out there, and he taught me a few things. Hopefully it translates. To be out there with the GOAT in my eyes in their sport and to be able to talk to him about Sam and Charlie and his father, it was just a great day. I woke up today so proud to be able to post that moment for the world, and be able to get a little snippet of our moment together.

"I took a nap, and I woke up, and I woke up to the news. Just like everybody out there, my thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones because we all were shaken and shook at that moment, not knowing what happened with Tiger. My prayers go out to him, and hopefully a speedy recovery for him, and hopefully he gets a chance to get back to doing what he loves to do, and that's playing the game of golf. And I'm just thankful he took the time to be able to teach me a few things about the game yesterday."

Wade posted video of outing with Woods

Wade posted the video of him and Woods, which he said he was "so proud" to be able to post, just a few hours before the crash happened. In the video, Wade and Woods get goofy about Wade's golf skills, and it shows off a side of Woods we don't see very often.

Wade also posted a series of photos that show Woods giving him pointers on his game.

Woods was involved in a one-car rollover accident, which fractured several bones in his right leg. He had surgery on Tuesday to stabilize the breaks and relieve pressure due to swelling. His team released a statement late Tuesday night to say that Woods was awake, responsive and recovering in the hospital.
