Social media baffled by woman's 'low-tech' iPhone hack: 'This makes me wanna cry'

The latest TikTok iPhone hack might sound a little strange at first.

But, according to users on the app, it really works. The trick, shared by user @caitlinoo_, claims to turn your phone speakers into a full-on dance club.

As the TikToker claims — and many commenters agreed — all you have to do is put your phone behind your neck.

“Put your phone at the back of your neck you won’t regret it,” the TikToker captioned her viral video.

The iPhone hack might sound a little silly at first, but many TikTok users (including this writer) really enjoyed it. Basically, the phone’s speakers turn into a sort of thumping, pounding surround-sound.

That phenomenon, mixed with the literal feeling of the bass on your neck, seems to create a sort of simulated dance club. After nearly a year of a “new normal,” it’s a feeling many users seemed to miss.

“This is the thing that finally made me feel something,” one commenter wrote.

“I miss the club,” another added.

“This makes me wanna cry,” another wrote.

“I needed this,” yet another added.

Some users claimed the feeling of the TikTok iPhone hack matched the sensation of walking into the bathroom at a noisy bar or club. Others said it reminded them of a college party or a music festival.

Regardless of their interpretation, many TikTokers used the opportunity to reminisce on their pre-pandemic life. So if @caitlinoo_’s “hack” isn’t really much of a hack, at least it’s given us that.

Also, for what it’s worth, the TikToker posted a follow-up video suggesting a new song to use with the hack.
