Yahoo Finance TikToker swears Costco has a secretly really good frozen section: 'I never knew'
Canadian Costco shoppers say the store’s bakery department has some incredible hidden gems.
TikToker Charisse Borines showed off a $49.99 case of 336 frozen brioches. Her local Costco offers affordable bulk options of cookie dough, burger buns, apple turnovers, croissants, baguettes, bagels and tuxedo cake. The options are available in person, and some are online in Canada, although they don’t appear to be available in the U.S. at all.
Borines gave a quick tutorial on how she prepares the frozen Costco brioches.
First, she placed them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Next, she let them rise for about an hour at 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
After they doubled in size, she brushed them with an egg wash and baked them at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 13 minutes.
“There you go, freshly baked mini brioche buns,” she said.
Many TikTokers were (cautiously) envious of the sheer amount of brioche.
“I don’t know if I could handle having such easy access to fresh warm bread,” a user commented.
“The responsibility that comes with a case of 360 pieces of frozen dough that turn into warm pillows of freshly baked bread is just too much,” a TikToker replied.
“Wow! I never knew you could buy them like that!” another added.
“I have no self control and would eat them in less than a week,” a person wrote.
“This has been one of my favorite frozen bakery buys,” a user said.
