Tim Tebow releases first children's book, which pays tribute to his dog, Bronco

New York Mets minor leaguer and former Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has a new children’s book out Tuesday. Tebow appeared on “Good Morning America” to discuss his new book, “Bronco and Friends: A Party to Remember,” which pays tribute to his dog.

Tebow told the “GMA” crew the book was about letting kids know “they’re unique, they’re special, they’re wonderful.”

The book follows a dog named Bronco, who wears glasses due to a vision disability. Bronco is named after Tebow’s dog, who died in 2019. In the book, Bronco meets up with “a flightless bird, an allergic goat, and a clumsy bunny” to look for a puzzle piece, according to Amazon.

The book may touch on religious topics. Amazon has listed it in the “Christian Family Fiction” section. Tebow has been outspoken about his faith throughout his career.

Tim Tebow trying to make Mets in 2021

When he’s not writing books, Tebow is fighting to make it to the majors. The 33-year-old has spent the last four seasons in the Mets’ minor league system. Despite some rough numbers, Tebow has continued to rise through the team’s system, and should start the 2021 season in Triple-A.

Tebow struggled the last time he stepped foot on a baseball field, hitting .163/.240/.255 in 264 plate appearances at Triple-A in 2019. The minor league season was canceled in 2020, so Tebow didn’t have a chance to build on those numbers.

Tebow may need to show major improvement if he’s hoping to make it to the majors in 2021. While performance has never held Tebow back in the past, things could be different this season now that Steve Cohen has taken over the Mets.

If the Mets truly care about winning now, Tebow is going to have to earn this promotion.
