Conversations around diversity and inclusion can be uncomfortable — particularly in the workplace. In this new podcast, host Y-Vonne Hutchinson — CEO and founder of ReadySet, a diversity and inclusion consulting and strategy firm — speaks with business leaders who are driving discussions within their organizations and taking bold action to advance and accelerate change.

Working with CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion — the largest coalition of CEOs who’ve pledged to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace — Hutchinson discusses topics such as allyship, intersectional divides and mental health inclusion with C-suite leaders who are showing their organizations and their industries that now is the time to act on diversity and inclusion.

Y-Vonne Hutchinson, Host: Now is the time to act on change, but what immediate action should companies and their leaders take to foster a culture of diversity, acceptance, allyship and inclusion?

Diversity and inclusion is a societal issue. Not a competitive one. Business leaders are sharing collectively how they’re driving conversations inside the walls of their organizations and taking bold action to advance and accelerate change. I’m Y-Vonne Hutchinson, CEO and founder of ReadySet, a diversity and inclusion consulting and strategy firm. And in this new podcast, I’m working with CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion, the largest coalition of CEOs who’ve pledged to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Throughout this series, I’ll be talking to leaders from companies across food, finance technology and more to learn about the triumphs and challenges of not only incorporating diversity into their teams, but inspiring company-wide commitment to inclusion.

James Fripp, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Yum! Brands: What I’ve learned about the space is there’s very little forgiveness for the D&I professional. We’re supposed to be the know-it-all. We’re supposed to be the one who knows how to make this thing come to life in a way that everybody’s on board and everybody’s comfortable. The reality of it is, not everybody’s on board. Not everybody’s comfortable.

Barbara Whye, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Intel Corporation: All eyes are on these challenges. And just imagine if every single person in — in my case, 110,000-person company — if you could organize those 110,000 actions towards the right outcomes, you would give a multiplier effect on what we need to do to drive and catalyze this change.

Tom Troy, CEO and President, CSAA: We’ve talked about listening a lot, but if the organization was better at listening and it had become second nature, not something that had to be thought about, I would consider that a major achievement, a life achievement. Really.

Hutchinson: You won’t want to miss these incredible conversations with people who are leading the charge to create sustainable change for inclusion in their companies, across industries and within the communities they serve. Subscribe to Time To Act for free on Apple podcasts or wherever you listen. Now’s the time to get the conversation started.
