Yahoo Finance Time viewers call for season 2 following "utterly magnificent" finale

Time viewers have called for a second season following the "utterly magnificent" finale.
The Jimmy McGovern drama ended on Sunday night (June 20), though all three episodes have been available on BBC iPlayer since the premiere, to rapturous appraise.
Reversing the fortunes of protagonists Mark Cobden (Sean Bean) and Eric McNally (Stephen Graham), Mark was freed two years early from his sentence after being saved from a vicious snooker-ball-in-sock attack by an inmate he had taught to read while on the inside.

He later enjoyed a healing meeting with Anne Warren (Anna Madeley), the wife of the man he killed while drink driving.
Meanwhile, Eric was caught and sentenced to four years in prison for his role in the smuggling ring operated by prisoner Jackson Jones (Brian McCardie). Refusing to incriminate any of the others involved meant his son would remain safe for the rest of his own prison sentence.
Following the tumultuous events of the finale, viewers flocked to Twitter to praise the show and beg for a follow-up — despite Time being billed as a limited series. (Then again, so was Cruel Summer.)
"[Definitely] a second series in that," said one viewer.
"Hopefully, there will be a second series following McNally," added another.
