Tom Brady had no idea where New England was after getting drafted by Patriots

·2-min read

It’s a good thing football worked out for Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady because it’s clear geography wasn’t his strong suit. Brady admitted Thursday that he had no idea where New England was located after he was drafted in 2000.

Brady’s confusion got only worse after he landed in Rhode Island instead of Massachusetts.

Clearly, things worked out. Brady eventually got his bearings, and went on to become an icon in all of New England — which includes Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Tom Brady focused on winning another Super Bowl

While New England and the Patriots will always remain a key part of Brady’s legacy, he can become a legend for another franchise with a win in Super Bowl LV. Brady’s Bucs are set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 7. If Brady wins, he will take home his seventh Super Bowl ring.

Though he’s been to the big game multiple times, Brady doesn’t think his experience will give him an edge during the contest.

That’s probably a smart stance. Brady’s counterpart in the game — Patrick Mahomes — might be young, but he’s not to be taken lightly. In his three seasons as the Chiefs’ starter, Mahomes has established himself as the future of the quarterback position. It also helps that Mahomes has proven himself on the biggest stage, winning a Super Bowl last year.

Mahomes is already considered the future at the quarterback position. It will be up to Brady to see if he can push that future back at least one more season.
