Tottenham and Manchester City have been allocated 2,000 tickets each for next week's Carabao Cup Final but supporters must agree to a string of conditions to attend the match.

The Wembley showpiece on April 24 will be the first fixture this season to welcome back spectators, with 8,000 people set to attend as part of the government's Events Research Programme (ERP).

The remaining 4,000 tickets will be given to groups including Brent residents and NHS staff.

Tickets for both clubs will be priced at £40 and £50, with no concessions available, and no under-18s will be permitted to attend.

Supporters who are clinically vulnerable or living with someone vulnerable or pregnant have been discouraged from applying.

Attendees will have to complete a consent form and undertake a lateral flow test at a government testing centre 24 hours prior to the match, with proof of a negative result required to gain entry to the stadium.

Attendees will also be required to complete a free PCR home test five days after the match.

The event will be used to analyse the spread of Covid-19 at sports venues and how well lateral flow devices perform in preventing outbreaks at events.

Data will also be collected on the air quality at Wembley, to assess the risk of airborne infections, and the way supporters move around the ground.

Holders City have earmarked 1,750 tickets for fans in the Manchester area and 250 for supporters with addresses in London or the Home Counties.

Fans travelling down from Manchester must select a pre-determined method of transport – either train, coach or car – with trains chartered exclusively for the event and club coaches leaving from the Etihad Stadium in the morning.

Spurs season-ticket holders have until Wednesday at 5pm BST to enter the ballot for a seat, while the club said premium members would be contacted directly.
