Jon Bon Jovi, the rock icon, philanthropist and lead singer in Bon Jovi, has put his sprawling New Jersey French-inspired chateau on the market.
High Point Estate, nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Navesink River, has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and 15-acres of impressive outdoor space – and it's now up for sale. Designed by the renowned architect, Robert A.M. Stern, the mansion has exceptional architecture, craftsmanship and materials throughout.
The Living On A Prayer singer has lived in the home with his wife Dorothea and their four children. Bon Jovi's last album might have been tilted This House Is Not For Sale, but this sprawling property is in fact up for grabs.
The main house spreads over 18,000 sq ft and features a wide entrance driveway, brick courtyards, French balconies, mullioned windows, slate roofs, tall chimneys, copper gutters and stellar interiors.
In the entrance of the home you'll find a two-storey elegant foyer with limestone flooring, exquisite architectural details and a custom circular staircase. Head into the 50ft living room and you'll discover a space packed with character. There's a grand fireplace, intricately painted woodwork, bookshelves and parquet flooring, too.
Impressive, but that's not all: a state-of-the-art cinema is next door, making it easier than ever to settle down and watch your favourite film with your slippers still on.
For a house this spectacular you can only begin to imagine how the kitchen looks. There are hand-painted beams stretched across the ceiling, wide-planked wooden floors, a large island and state-of-the-art kitchen amenities.
The second floor has two separate wings — one for the family, and another for guests or staff. On the family wing, there are four ensuite bedrooms and a grand master suite (it has its own balcony, steam shower, freestanding bath, generous his-and-hers walk-in closets, a seating area and a kitchenette).
The guest wing is also impeccably sleek, offering a gym, kitchen, two further bedrooms and a bathroom for guests (or staff members) to enjoy.
What about outside? Well, there's a pool, a large slate patio, shady pergola, beautiful gardens and glorious views of the river.
'The property boasts the talents of the world's most esteemed visionaries in music, architecture, landscaping and interiors. The result is an estate that is a work of art to be lived in,' says Kathleen Coumou, executive director of Christie's International Real Estate.
Speaking about his beautiful home, Bon Jovi said: 'Dorothea and I are proud to have been born and raised in New Jersey. We raised our family here and are grateful to be able to give back to the communities that have given us so much.'
