Interestingly, the plot of the upcoming “HTTYD” movie sees young Viking leader Hiccup (voice of Jay Baruchel) facing a test of leadership. Simultaneously in the plot, Toothless will discover an untamed and elusive mate. What many fans of the franchise don’t know is that plot of these movies has been inspired by a series of books of the same name written by English children’s author, Cressida Cowell.

“How To Train Your Dragon 3” stars Gerard Butler as Stoick, Hiccup’s father, Craig Ferguson as Gobber, America Ferrera as Astrid, Jonah Hill as Snotlout Jorgenson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Fishlegs, T.J. Miller as Tuffnut Thorstonand, Kristen Wiig as Ruffnut Thorston and Cate Blanchett as Valka.

The first movie saw Hiccup, the scrawny yet intelligent son of a Viking Chieftain, learn that dragons aren’t sworn enemies of humans. In fact, they can be easily trained and make loyal companions. In the second movie, which was released in 2014, Hiccup and Toothless discovered an ice cave that housed hundreds of new and wild dragons.
