With under a month to go now until the transfer window opens for business once more, clubs and managers are turning their attentions to potential New Year deals.

The number of injuries amid such a hectic 2020/21 schedule means we could see a much busier January market than usual as clubs scramble to bolster their depleted squads for the second half of the campaign.

Here are the latest transfer headlines and gossip across the Premier League, Europe and beyond…

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu are making plans for an “unpredictable” January transfer window amid links to the likes of Red Bull Salzburg forward Dominik Szoboszlai and former Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen.

Any club hoping to lure Jack Grealish - Manchester United, perhaps? - away from Aston Villa this summer will have to break the bank, with The Telegraph now reporting that the Midlands club value their highly-rated captain at £100m.

Liverpool’s chances of signing Ajax defender Perr Schuurs as cover for injured duo Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez in January look to have suffered a blow, with the 21-year-old centre-back telling SBS6 (via The Mirror) that he wants to stay with the Dutch giants for a few more years yet.

Chelsea are known to be firm admirers of West Ham’s Declan Rice, though could ease off on that particular pursuit in future if they are able to convince Bayern Munich contract rebel David Alaba to move to Stamford Bridge, say the Daily Star.

Speaking of Chelsea, Olivier Giroud has brushed aside questions regarding his future after a stunning four-goal Champions League haul against Sevilla in the Champions League. The Frenchman is out of contract in west London next summer and has been urged to consider his next move in January in a bid to make the France squad for the delayed European Championship.

Is a high-profile reunion between Neymar and Lionel Messi on the cards after all? After scoring twice for Paris Saint-Germain in Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United, the Brazilian reportedly told ESPN that he wants to play with his former Barcelona team-mate against next season.

West Ham are eager to tie down manager David Moyes to a new contract and have opened talks, say Sky Sports. The Scot is beginning to make good progress after returning to his former role last year, with a three-match winning streak lifting the in-form Hammers up to fifth in the Premier League ahead of Saturday’s visit of Manchester United to the London Stadium.
